Tsavo West National Park

From the iconic Ziwani Voyager, Mzima Springs and the Shetani Lava flow, to the rugged wilderness where wild animals and 600+ species of birds reside, you have a lot to feast your eyes on in Tsavo West National Park. The park is located 240 kilometers from Nairobi, 250 kilometers from Mombasa; adjacent to Tsavo East National Park. The park can be reached by road, air, or rail.

Whether you are a bird watcher, or wildlife is what gets you tingling with excitement, the attractions at the park will certainly satisfy your eyes. The animals include: Leopard, Cheetah, Rhino, Crocodile, Elephant, Buffalo, Hippo, Giraffe, Hartebeest, Gerenuk, Impala, Lesser Kudu, Dik-dik, Bush baby, and Monkeys.

As if this is not enough, there is also a hide where Crocodile and Hippos can be viewed from underwater. In addition, you can explore caves, climb rocks, or just have a bush walk with permission and accompaniment of a guard, of course.

In addition, the topography at the park is composed of arid grasslands and scrubs, oases, acacia and baobab woodlands, hills and rocks, and volcanic lava beds. The climate is hot and dry with temperatures ranging from 29°C in the day and 18°C at night.  For wildlife watchers, the best time to visit is January and February, and also June through October, while bird watchers would have the best experience from the months of November to May.

Other popular Parks include Masai Mara Game Reserve, Amboseli National Park and Lake Nakuru National Park.
