Day 1: Mombasa – Tsavo East National Park
On the first day of your tour, you will depart from Mombasa in the morning (6-7 am) to Tsavo East National Park. This is known to be the largest park in Kenya covering an area of 13,743 square kilometers. You will enter the park and start your game viewing drive towards the Aruba Dam; a water hole where animals frequent to quench their thirst. The area has an amazing topography with a range of attractions including the Mudanda rock and the Yatta plateau; the world’s longest lava flow, which is 300 km in length.
Moreover, from here you will reach the Aruba dam. And behold, the Gallana River which has the Lugard waterfalls. You will also encounter the big five, namely, the red elephant, rhino, lion, leopard, and the buffalo. Others include baboons, warthogs, antelopes, cheetahs, hippos, common zebras, and a range of other species. Ideally, you are bound to arrive at the lodge in good time for after which you can rest and proceed for the afternoon drive. You can thereafter have your dinner and spend your night at the Ashnil Aruba Lodge.
Day 2: Tsavo East National Park -Taita Hills Salt Lick Game Sanctuary
On the second day of your tour, you will enjoy an early morning pre-breakfast game drive in search of the big cats before heading to the Taita Hills Salt Lick Game Lodge. Here you will arrive in time for lunch, have some rest, and then proceed for the afternoon game drive. Founded by the Hilton in the early seventies, Taita hills sanctuary covers an area of 24,000 hectares and its physical attractions include the arid and savanna, acacia forests, thorny bushes, swamp and the Taita hills among others. Some of the animals you will find here include cheetah, zebras, lions, elephants, and giraffes. As for the birds, you will most likely encounter weaver birds, kingfishers, guinea fowls, ostriches, and horny bills. Once you are done with your second day’s tour, you can dine and spend your night at the Sarova Game Lodge.
Day 3: The Taita Hills Salt Lick Game Sanctuary – Mombasa
On the third day, you will have a pre-breakfast game drive before returning to the Lodge for your breakfast. You will thereafter proceed to your morning game drive in search of the lions, antelopes, monkeys, giraffes, zebra, and a range of other animals. You will then have your lunch at the Taita Hills Lodge and then depart for Mombasa where you will arrive late in the afternoon and get dropped to your respective hotel. Though your safari has, you will have gathered memories that you will forever cherish.
